Virtual production Technical Artist
Brain bar assistant
I blend engineering with artistry—building visuals across various applications, from film to production operations. I work hands-on with the technical suite of equipment that powers smart stages and virtual production environments. My responsibilities include content distribution, image manipulation, camera tracking, recording, and the creative visualization of data—essentially acting as the brain behind volume control or “Mission Control.”

This behind-the-scenes video, published by Joi Chua, showcases part of the virtual production workflow behind the music video. It highlights how real-time environments created in Unreal Engine are seamlessly blended with LED volume technology to bring the final visuals to life.
Virtual production is a highly collaborative process, bringing together the film crew, actors, art department, prop makers, set designers, and technical operators to achieve the creative vision established by the Director of Photography (DOP). Every department plays a role in ensuring that the in-camera visual effects feel natural, immersive, and visually polished.
This particular production was technically demanding, featuring multiple camera setups, complex camera movements, and a variety of real-time environments. During the project, I worked as a Brain Bar Operator, overseeing the systems responsible for the visual content displayed on the LED volume wall. My role involved monitoring and managing real-time playback, ensuring that the virtual environments remained synchronized with the production requirements throughout the shoot.

LOST IN SPACE
Virtual Production Flinder's University South Australia Adelaide
This project was filmed in The Void at Flinders University, South Australia, using Unreal Engine 5's nDisplay technology. Through the power of real-time rendering and in-camera visual effects (ICVFX), we were able to bring this immersive sci-fi world to life.
